Analog Devices Misses 3Q Forecast: "NEW YORK (AP) -- Analog Devices Inc., which makes chips used in mobile phones, on Thursday saw shares drop sharply as the company posted higher third-quarter profit but warned customers have grown more cautious about spending.

The company reported earnings of $169 million, or 43 cents per share, more than double the year-ago's $79 million, or 21 cents per share. Revenue during the quarter increased $717.8 million from $520.4 million last year.
The latest earnings missed Wall Street expectations of 45 cents per share on revenue of $740.2 million, according to analysts polled by Thomson First Call. Analog Devices blamed disappointing revenue on sluggish sales growth during the quarter."
