Worldwide wireless LAN hardware revenue topped $658 million in the third quarter, up 11% from the second quarter, and is projected to grow to $3.6 billion in 2006, more than doubling from $1.6 billion in 2002, according to Infonetics Research’s quarterly worldwide market share and forecast service, Wireless LAN Hardware. Growth in the market is being driven by the widespread popularity of WiFi across enterprise, consumer, and hotspot markets as mobility becomes ingrained both as a way of working and in consumer lifestyles.
